About

My art classes are thoughtfully designed with homeschooling families in mind, embracing a variety of learning styles to ensure every child feels supported and inspired. Curiosity is at the heart of what I do, fostering a love of discovery and exploration while developing fine art skills that grow with each child. Aligned with the NSW curriculum, families will receive a detailed term overview for their records, giving peace of mind while encouraging a process-oriented approach to creativity. I focus on nurturing a growth mindset, celebrating the unique qualities of each child, and helping them thrive in their own way. With small class sizes, every student receives the attention they deserve, creating a space where individual potential can truly shine.

As a homeschooling parent for the past five years, I bring over 25 years of experience as a graphic designer and abstract painter, combined with a deep belief in the importance of creativity and play. My interests span various art forms, design, deep ecology, transpersonal psychology, and personal growth.

My own artwork reflects metaphysical and emotional landscapes, using bold colors to capture the beauty I find in the mundane, the broken, and the overlooked. A gentle rebel at heart, I value sincerity, kindness, curiosity, and courage (and humour!)—qualities I aim to bring into my work and everyday life.

Vision

I believe art has the power to shake up the story we’ve been told—one of consumerism and individualism—and help us reconnect with ourselves, each other, and the world around us. Through creating, we tap into something deeper, exploring new (and ancient) ways of inter-being.

By realising that imagination and creation go hand-in-hand, we empower ourselves to shape a more thoughtful, connected, and inspired world.

Philosophy

Art is a powerful and emotionally connected way for children to explore their identities and connect with the world around them. By blending open-ended exploration with structured guidance, young artists are free to follow their curiosity while developing foundational skills. This approach not only deepens their problem-solving abilities but also fosters a sense of belonging and connection.

In my homeschool-focused classes, children thrive in a nurturing environment where they are encouraged to imagine, create, and grow. They learn to see beauty in the everyday, cultivating an appreciation for the small details and moments that enrich life. Through experimenting with materials, navigating challenges, and refining techniques, they build resilience, adaptability, and self-confidence. Thoughtful mentorship, combined with play and humor, ensures that the joy of creating remains at the heart of the process, while promoting holistic development and a lifelong love of art.
